Frequently Asked Questions About Type of Fillers

Below you will find the most common fillers we use.

Juvéderm Voluma XC

As we age, we lose volume in our cheeks, which gives the appearance of a more hollowed-aged face. Voluma XC is the most common one to add youthful contours to the cheeks. Results are instant and last up to 2 years. For most patients, a minimum of 2 syringes needed to restore cheek volume.

Juvéderm Ultra XC

This is the most popular product at our office to plump lips. For most patients, 1-2 syringes required depending on the desired result.

Juvederm Ultra Plus XC

We use this product to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and lines. The most common areas include “smile lines,” and nasolabial folds (the creases that run from the nose to just under the corner of the mouth).

Juvederm Vollure XC

This filler adds subtle volume to smooth moderate to several facial wrinkles and lines. Vollure is excellent for improving the appearance of laugh lines, marionette lines, and horizontal chin lines.

Juvederm Vobella XC

Juvéderm Volbella is a newer formulation of filler by Allergan which has become very popular in our office. This product can used to add subtle lip volume and soften vertical lip lines and lines around the mouth.

Radiesse

This product is not part of the Juvederm collection. Radiesse can used to plump cheeks and treat moderate facial creases, such as the nasal labial folds. The filler made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a soft gel. It is very common for our Expert Injector to use Radiesse in the cheeks in conjunction with Voluma XC.

How do Fillers work?

The main ingredient in Juvéderm is hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar found in the body that gives the skin volume, elasticity, and moisture. As we age, the hyaluronic acid gets depleted resulting in volume loss. When injected, HA acts like a sponge to attract water into the skin, plumping up the injected. Research also shows that hyaluronic acid also boosts the skin’s collagen production.

How long do Fillers last?

In the right hands, the capability of these fillers is both vast and versatile with results lasting up to 2 years (depending on the type of filler).

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox

Where can I get Botox done?

The most common areas are crow’s feet, horizontal forehead creases, vertical frown lines, and bunny lines. Botox can also address hyperhidrosis in the armpits (stop sweating). Not sure what you need? No problem! One of our Expert Injectors at Eberbach Plastic Surgery will design a customized Botox plan just for you.

How long does Botox last?

Botox typically lasts 3 months but can last up to 6 months depending on the individual.

How does Botox work?

Botox delivers predictable, subtle results, so you look like you, only with less noticeable facial lines. Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows cause the skin to furrow and fold. Gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines.  Cosmetic Botox works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults. To help them look visibly smoother. Botox injections contain botulinum toxin. Typically produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. This toxin effectively inhibits muscle contraction by blocking particular chemical signals from neurons.

Am I a good candidate for Botox?

Botox is suitable for healthy individuals who want to renew their facial features and obtain a more youthful appearance. Candidates must have realistic expectations in terms of results (you will not look like you had a facelift from just getting Botox). Similarly, there is no age limit for Botox, at Eberbach Plastic Surgery many of our regular Botox patients are in their 70’s and even 80’s.

How much does Botox cost?

At Eberbach Plastic Surgery we charge $14 per unit. Usually, 16 units per area required making the average cost $224 per area. But for hyperhidrosis, an average of 100 units required.
